Overview
The architect wanted the stair to read as one continuous ribbon of steel. We fabricated each stringer in two pieces, full-penetration welded them on site and ground the joint flush before the final paint coat, so no splice is visible.
All work in the atrium was done after office hours while the lower floors were being fitted out, with protection over the finished stone floor.

Structural steel S355
